Outreach is always conducted in Busitema university faculty of agriculture and animal science, Arapai campus by the second year semester one continuing students of CGA, DCP and DAP, as one of the modules in the semester for a partial fulfilment of an award of a certificate in general agriculture, and Diploma in crop and animal production and management.
The activities done from outreach by the group two members of Aloet Zone B include; introduction and orientation, clearing the bushy grass and cleaning the compound, making drying rack, weeding cassava, making kitchen garden, staking and weeding the bananas, maintaining the compound cleanliness, digging of rubbish pit, constructing the bathing shelter, and raising of the nursery bed for flowers.
The practical's done during the outreaches have expanded our knowledge and skills since some of the things which were not taught in class were done theoretically and practically during the outreach and therefore the activities done were interesting and encouraging since we were able to relate what we studied in class to what was done from the outreaches.
In summary the outreach was of paramount experience in implementation of extension work and getting used to the working conditions as well as meeting new friends. Despite of the challenges faced by the members in the farmer's home, the recommendations should be put in place for the development of the farmer's home in order to overcome those challenges.
