The internship was conducted at Busitema University Arapai Campus (BUAC) Arapai farm as the area of attachment for a period of ten. (10 weeks) ranging from 20th May to 26th July 2019. The purpose of internship was to equip students with practical skills, knowledge and experiences on various aspects of crop and livestock sections.
Various, skills were gained during the process of internship that included, disease diagnosis, treating animals, pests and disease control, brooding and chemical identification.
However, some challenges were encountered that include shortage of water, tools e.g. syringes, infected planting materials for citrus and bananas.
The staff of Arapai farm has the ability to train students to pursue different careers in the field of agriculture due to high professional profiles.
Generally, the industrial training is designed to give students hands on experience in agricultural production where students acquire skills and Agriculture activities by converting the theoretical knowledge from class into practical skills. This industrial [raining was carried out by certificates diploma and bachelor students
In conclusion, the great experience and the skills I gained in the study have rendered me strength, skills and knowledge, above all appreciate the staff of Arapai Campus for helping me to put theoretical knowledge in to practice in both crops and animal management
However, to encounter the challenges the farm needs to procure more tools for training to solve the problems. |
