This report contains information of the industrial training carried out KARUGWA MIXED FARM. The training covered a period of 10 weeks which ran from 18th may to 31st July. The training was carried successfully and many achievements and impacts were recorded as shown in chapter 3.
During the training the following activities were carried out; orientation, hand milking, fence repairing, i.m.o preparation, poultry structure establishment, deworming, blood sampling, crop integration [weeding, spraying of passion fruits and chill], dehorning, feed mixing, slashing, brood setting, i.m.o pit construction, vaccination of chicks, hoof treatment, castration, drug handling; silage making and packing, debeaking, pasture management, fishpond management.
The days on which the activities were done and the people who carried out the activities and remarks are all clearly listed in the work plan. This report also contains how equipments and tools used during the attachment and diseases that were investigated and treated. This report clearly explains the organization structure of the farm.
However, though the training moved successfully, there are few challenges and these include;
• Lack of enough supervision by the farm manager given to students.
• Lack of enough skilled personnel at the farm to elucidate more knowledge in other.
• Rigidness of the farm manager who was not ready to learn from student. However, I would love to recommend that to reduce on the above challenges.
More sensitization is required to change the minds of the farm manager to adopt new innovations. Employing enough skilled personnel to give more knowledge to internship students. |
