Abstract:
This Field attachment was carried out in Kumi district under Kumi Sub County in Olupe parish. For a period of ten weeks from 20th/ May/ 2019 to 26th/ July 12019 with the objective of Equipping a student with practical skills and knowledge through hands on activities. This report contains four chapters; Chapter one contains introduction that has the background of The s/c, the land area, population, map of Kumi district and Kumi and the organizational Structure, the vision, mission, the goal, and the objective. Chapter two describes field activities carried out in different parishes. The activities include, Orientation, distributions of the following South African male goats, tree species, and cassava, stem cuttings, pheromone fraps, kuroilers. Demonstrations on the following; nursery establishment for vegetables i.e. collards, formulation of organic pesticides and fertilizers, silage making and compost, IMO making, prune citrus, watering, gap filling, hardening off, transplanting. Trainings on the following; pesticides and human safety, poultry as a business, piggery as a business, record keeping and business plan, post-harvest handling, YLP, enterprise selection, bee keeping. Other activities include; vaccination of the goats, sheep against Pettis Des Petit Ruminates. Using PPR vaccine, farm. visits to different individual farmers, plant clinics, budget approval for the s/c. Chapter three contains the skills and qualifications I attained during the industrial training. the responsibilities I undertook during the attachment period, how the skills I attained will influence my future career plans and how the attachment activities correlate with my classroom knowledge.
Chapter four consists of the key conclusions I derived from the attachment experience, general observations about the sector I was attached to, and the recommendations.
