Abstract:
This project is about a sensor-based alert security system for domestic solar panels. The system uses infrared technology as well as vibration sensor technology to pick signals of threat to the solar panels when touched and also when it senses people within the perimeters of the solar panel installation. The signals are then sent to the Arduino uno that processes then and sends information to the buzzer to make sound and to the LED for visual signal to show that there is a threat of theft of the solar panel.
This system is specifically made for domestic solar panel installation to solve cases of theft. By integrating these sensors with the solar panel, the system is capable of triggering alarms to alert the owners of any attempted theft. In this project, infrared sensors detect motion using infrared radiations emitted by humans within the specified perimeter and the vibration sensor detects physical contact with the solar panels if the system is bridged.
The system offers a solution to theft and vandalism of solar panels in homes as well as reliability through real-time monitoring and alerts
