The effect of thematic curriculum on teaching of lower primary in Tororo county Tororo district.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find out the effect of thematic curriculum on the teaching and learning in lower primary. Some schools especially those in Peri-urban use English language as a medium of instruction in Tororo county. Tororo county being a multi-politan county the use of local language as a medium of instruction in schools was under threat as a result of many tribes in the area. It was a common understanding that some learners and most teachers in Tororo county were not familiar with the local language used as a medium of instruction for the thematic curriculum. Local language should be encouraged to be used as a medium of instruction for the implementation of the thematic curriculum.
